Someone with the user name “JPatrickBedell” made it clear in a 2007 post on Wikipedia that he was determined to find out the “truth of events such as the September 11 demolitions” and see that justice was served in the death of Colonel James Sabow. Sabow was a Marine Corps officer many believe was beaten to death in the backyard of his residence on the El Toro Marine Corps Air Base then shot in the head to make it seem as though he’d committed suicide. Conspiracy theorists believe Sabow’s death was an assassination. More here about Col. Sabow.
“J. Patrick Bedell” appeared to be now-deceased Pentagon shooter John Patrick Bedell’s preferred online handle, as detailed in this post.
The history of the Wikipedia post shows it was made in November, 2006 and edited through February, 2007 (until, of course, trolls started editing it today). After the jump is the full text of “JPatrickBedell’s” conspiracy and paranoia-rich screed, with a little commentary after:

My goals include the discovery of a protein sequence for the diamondase enzyme, enabling the creation of macroscale diamond structures, and the creation of self-assembled macrosystems with CMOS DNA-integrated circuits. The scale of these and other projects have led me to develop financial instruments representing information as a tool to manage large projects that are very knowledge-intensive.
I am determined to see that justice is served in the death of Colonel James Sabow, as a step toward establishing the truth of events such as the September 11 demolitions and institutions such as the coup regime of 1963 that maintains itself in power through the global drug trade, financial corruption, and murder, among other crimes. My work to develop information currency is an effort to create a framework for information management that uses financial markets to create the economic signals (prices) that will effect complex human actions in the real world based on specified information. My desire for justice led me to violate what I think is one of the most unjust laws, cannabis prohibition, by growing 16 cannabis plants on my balcony in Irvine, CA from March 2006 to June 2006. One desired result of my effort is (will be) billions and billions of carefully cultivated, highly valuable cannabis plants growing throughout the United States with complete security of property. I have posted the image to the right in order to illustrate the use of cannabis as a monetary system using digital financial instruments. There are two information currency units in each of the PDF417 codes pictured. One of the information currency units is drawn from a series with “one gram cannabis” with the underlying asset, and the second ICU in each code has as its underlying asset the URL http://www.mises.org/humanaction/pdf/humanaction.pdf and the SHA-1 digest value of the file at that location (fd8205cb8b4793d43b57ba6f6c7367aa700c307a). This is a way of associating the work of Ludwig von Mises with financial value, which may be a tool to implement his ideas in reality. I hope someday to see full-reserve banking and observance of Article One, Section 10 of the US Constitution.
I apologize for the graphic content of some of my contributions, but detailed evidence is sometimes necessary to address important matters. I am very disturbed by the fact that Col. Sabow’s civilian superiors and their successors have been able to continue their narco-mercantilism. For historical comparison, I might resemble the odd German still complaining about the murders of the Night of the Long Knives in 1938(?). Of course, Wikipedia didn’t exist in 1938!

John Patrick Bedell managed to connect himself to his marijuana arrest record as well as the 9/11 Truth movement and more telling than that, Ur-libertarian Ludwig von Mises.
Direct tie to one of the more influential libertarian thinkers notwithstanding, though, what seems clear from reading the above is J. Patrick Bedell wasn’t quite right in the head. He subscribed to a number of universal conspiracy theories. Did they drive him to make a final, more demented than Don Quixote style assault on the conspiracy theorist’s ultimate 5-sided windmill?

Doesn’t mean he didn’t have some fair points. See, the media (and it’s surrounding entities, such as this) always (without fail) try and discourage descent by referring to said individuals as “crazy”. However, more and more citizens are starting to look past that and discover that it is society that “isn’t quite right” in fact. Some of these people take a stand, most do not, is the difference.
I saw a CNN clip discussing this case. The commentator was wondering if there wasn’t a pattern here (duh). WHY all these violent anti-government suicide missions lately? Is it really that mysterious? Our society is squeezing people to the point of breaking. And this is what happens when they do break. And each of these events functions as a trigger for many more, I’m afraid (especially thanks to the mass advertising by the media). At some level, the media wants more of them, so that they can get people glued to the TV.
HE makes some fair points? About what exactly? That the government planned 9/11? There are so many things wrong with the “Truther” conspiracy but let’s start with the most obvious one: If the government planned 9/11 to invade Iraq then why didn’t they create an incident that was related ti Iraq? Why make bin Ladin the bad guy instead of Hussain?
What else do you think he’s right about? That the government is owned by corporations? I agree that money has too much influence in politics but the answer to that is by working in the system. Finance reform laws, a constitutional amendment to switch to a proportional representation system would solve many of these problems (by allowing for viable third parties) and, while not simple to achieve, is far easier than overthrowing the government of creating a pot based currency. Not to mention that the reason that money has become so important in elections is because the public’s lack of interest in politics means that candidates need to buy expensive television advertising and pay for much more media than they would have in the past. If the electorate became more interested in politics on their own then the success of advertising would go down and so would the need for money.
Is it the legalization of marajuanna that he’s right about? Again, that’s debatable. I come from a family of alcoholics and drug addicts. Pot is not just a harmless plant and, in spite of pro-weed propaganda, it is possible to become addicted to it. I’ve seen it myself in family members. If I had my way all drugs including alcohol would be illegal, but that’s just because I come from a background where they really do ruin lives. I understand that my point of view is not gospel truth. I hope that you can see that yours isn’t either.
So, exactly what are his fair points?
Follow-up, if he does have fair points then how did he further them through 1) bitching on the internet 2) growing illegal drugs and 3) trying to shoot up the Pentegon? Bedell is just another guy looking for an outlet for his anger, not looking to create real change.

He’s one more truther, that has mysteriously died, in the cause to end nwo. They really wanted to shut him down and discredit him. When you watch the news, pay attention, it seems that the only big stories are ones they set up now towards their agendas. Ludwig von Mises is a true liberal. While the term “liberal” has been entirely corrupted and hijacked by progressives in the US, the reality is that Mises is a true liberal. Libertarians, classical liberals, and conservatives appreciate Mises’ work. Progressives, Fascists, and Socialists are on the polar opposite views. economic liberalism vs economic statism.

This guys seemed to be a walking contradiction. The media is trying to portray him as a right wing libertarian nut job and they are really playing up his admiration of Ludwig von Mises. But on the other side, he was a registered Democrat, a 9/11 truther, hated President Bush and the military, believed in conspiracy theories involving the NWO and corporations, was a big fan of pot and even had a plan to use cannabis as currency. Except for the von Mises link, he seems more like a liberal hippy than a right wing conservative/libertarian. I mean, what conservative registers as a Democrat, hates the military and wants to use cannabis as a currency?
If he was a heavy marijuana smoker I know that smoking obscene amounts of it everyday can make you go a little crazy. Maybe he was smoking weed that was laced with something bad. Other then that I dont think it makes you crazy enough to storm the Pentagon with a couple of 9mm’s but who knows.
Seemed pretty smart and well spoken. Kind of overexagereated the whole evil shadow government thing perhaps. It’s a shame he threw his life away considering he was so close to graduating with his graduate degree. He obviously needed some help and my condolences to the family for their loss.
Other then the kind of crazy obsession with weed I dont see anything strange about his politics. If he questioned his government about what happened on 9/11 that is his opinion and he is entitled to it. In fact I think more people in this country need to be more tolerant of the libertarian party and we need to bring it back to Washington. The Constitionalists or Libertarians have more in common with the founders then the Democrats or Republicans of today do.
Or maybe he is really a CIA operative and this is a staged attack to further the agenda he supposedly spoke out against? We will never know. ;)

You might want to check out whether the local perchlorate and tce drinking water contamination in Hollister, and the rather ugly coverup of the problem by San Benito County authorities, helped set this guy off. Lyndon Johnson did coverup environmental perchlorate back in 1963, so it fits in Bedell’s world view. If Bedell bought his guns at the firing range above the perchlorate plume in my town of Rancho Cordova, I would bet on it.

My condolences to the family and give him some honor for we do not know the truth and we may never know. My respect goes out to the guards for they performed there duty well. The mind and body are powerful and existence of things we don’t understand and to be feared are there and the nwo goes on and we live out lives because this wasn’t so much as an attack but a suicide remember MK-ultra. The guy was a wacko, plain and simple. He’d been in mental institutions multiple times. Left or right, doesn’t really matter. I’m sure his delusions would take whatever side necessary in order to continue their existence, I don’t know that it’s fair to point fingers at one side or the other.
