It’s Valentine’s Day! A day of expensive chocolate truffles, mass produced red roses and jewelry that look a whole lot bigger in the Macy’s catalog. But just because us bloggers are bitter doesn’t mean we can’t fall in love.
Mikey Rox, owner of Paper Rox Scissors and no stranger to the blogging world, proposed to his partner Earl through a blog and YouTube video on this Valentine’s Day. Rox, a contributor to NYC budget blog LifeStyler, titled his blog “5 Financially Savvy Steps To Popping The Question” but as you read on he describes how he met Earl and then pops the question through video.
“It’s f*ckin’ scary actually” is how Rox starts off the video proposal, only to go on to say that his love for Earl is the most natural thing he’s felt and that he’s ready to “take the plunge.”
“I know the law of New York don’t really allow gays to get marry, but I don’t care about the laws,” said Rox in the proposal video. “If we live in sin for the rest of our lives together I would be happy because you would be by my side.” See what Earl says after the jump…
Finally popping the question, Mikey tells his partner to “think about it” and let him know if he’s ready to also take the plunge.
“If you say no I’m going to look like a huge fool on the Internet, so just keep that in mind,” joked Mikey at the end of the video.
